A very special weekend and a rare and memorable experience

THE GYUTO MONKS OF TIBET
Saturday 11 October to Sunday 12 October 2003
with much loved special guest –for the first time in five years
GYUTO KHENSUR SHAR TSE CHOE-JE LOBSANG TENZIN RINPOCHE

Lobsang Tenzin Rinpoche led the first group of Gyuto Monks to Australia in 1994 where he met and inspired many with his love and compassion.Recently appointed by the Dalai Lama to be Deputy Head of the Gelugpa lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, Rinpoche followed the Dalai Lama into exile in India from Tibet in 1959. He brings this ancient tradition to life with wisdom, humour and infinite compassion.

This weekend will be a magic opportunity to connect with someone who carries the unmistakable stamp of a genuine tantric master, one of the original monks who practiced in the old Tibet of the Dalai Lama which today is fading to a dream of a mysterious past.

SATURDAY 11 OCTOBER

10.00 am –5.00 pm
‘A TOUCH OF COMPASSION ’ - A ONE DAY WORKSHOP WITH LOBSANG TENZIN RINPOCHE

As the Shar Tse Choe-Je, Rinpoche is vice regent of the Gelug lineage founded by Lama Tsong Khapa in 1475 in Lhasa, Tibet. In this capacity there can be no greater exponent of essential Buddhist philosophy than that based on one of Lama Tsong Khapa ’s classic teachings, the 3 Principal Paths. The day will enableparticipants to receive direct oral transmission of these sacred teachings translated into practical advice for everyday living.

Morning meditation with the Gyuto Monks will set the tone for the day then Rinpoche will offer a series of sessions each followed by a period of practical meditation. Dealing with anger, depression, illness and suffering; practicing compassion on oneself and others and learning to look to the future with confidence are only some of the results to be gained from this rare opportunity.
