EVENING TEACHINGS - OPEN TO ALL (7.30pm - 9.00 pm)

This series of teachings are based on the two great expositions of Lama Tsong Khapa, Founder of the Gelug-pa Order of Tibetan
Buddhism - the Lam Rim Chenmo, the graduated path to enlightenment and the Nag Rim Chenmo, the tantric path.

3.30 - 4.30 Tantric Art Class: Mani Stone Painting
7.30- 9.00 Blessing and Amitaya Empowerment for Long Life by the Jangden Chenmo, Great Chantmaster, Lobsang Tsering of Gyuto Tantric University. Following the chanting puja, the Great Chantmaster will offer individual blessings and talismans. [It is traditional on these occasions to make financial offerings to the Monastery and monks at the end of the ceremony - these may be offered at the discretion of the individual.]

2.00 - 4.00 Reflections on 'Buddhism in Australia - A Unique Social Hybrid? " with Gyuto Great Chantmaster Lobsang Tsering, and panel members including our and host, Venerable Phuoc Tan, Abbot of Quang Minh Temple and Venerable Santhindriya, North Victorian Buddhist Association. A monk in Tibet until his escape in 1959,Lobsang Tsering has travelled the world for 35 years and makes some fascinating observations about Tibet's guardianship of Buddhism and the way it is now evolving in the west.
4.30 - 5.30 Dissolution Ceremony of the Mandala of Yamantaka and Procession to the Maribyrnong River

Enveloped in the rich brocade robes of the Dakinis, the Sky Dancers, the sound of monks deep in prayer provides a space in which we all can come closer to OU! better selves and our spiritual core.

Funds raised help the building program at Gyuto Monastery's New Ramoche Temple in Dharamsala to be opened by His Holiness the Dalai Lama in 2002 when it is planned to relocate the 500 Gyuto Monks from their remote home in the Far Himalaya.
