"HEAL THE WORLD"

Over 5 days, the Gyuto Monks will offer an intensive program of tantric ritual and ceremony to tackle, from an energetic perspective, the fear, anxiety and horror currently gripping the world.

Working from a unique spiritual heritage they will do what they can to impact on the individual and global collective karma to remove the obstacles to peace.

The whole community is invited to join the monks each day to add the power of their own prayers/hopes/dreams to heal ourselves, each other and the world.

Buddhism holds that when ongoing problems occur in an individual or collective sense in the form of ill health, misfortune, natural disasters or human terror - especially when all counter measures fail, this indicates that the underlying spiritual energy is out
of balance. Thus before further material solutions are applied, it is necessary to recharge the disturbed energy field with positive harmonizing forces.

This is achieved through performing special ceremonies and healing pujas. The 8 Gyuto Monks will offer a series of 4 tantric rituals as a means of contributing to a more peaceful world.

Within Tibetan Buddhism the rituals are regarded as powerful means towards removing spiritual obstacles in the path of healing. This belief is based on the concept that unless the context is taken care of, treating the problem will only provide a short term and ineffective result - it is said, if the air is poisoned and polluted, there is little benefit in treating the lung!

During the 5 days at Gasworks the monks will perform daily chanting ceremonies, construct elaborate sculptures from coloured dough and butter which will culminate in a Grand Procession on Saturday afternoon when all present will be able to make a symbolic offering to the sea.

This will be preceded by a very special Public Talk "Healing the World" by Gyuto Tantric Master Jampa Tashi.

It is hoped that all of Melbourne will lend its energy to this peaceful and subtly powerful effort to change the global mental and physical environment.
