Rye Civic Centre Program, 4-13 January 2002

"The Precious Gems of Peace" 2002 tour begins at the Rye Civic Centre, Mornington Peninsula, Victoria on January 4th.

Join the monks during their 2002 ten day summer program at Rye Civic Centre. The program will concentrate on activities designed to encourage a sense of personal well-being and positive purpose as well as foster peace, harmony and prosperity in the community and wider world.

The 2002 program will include:

  • The construction of a large Sand Mandala of Ghuyasamaja and Butter Sculpture of the Wish - Fulfilling Jewel
  • A series of talks by the Great Chantmaster of Gyuto Tantric University, Lobsang Tsering.
  • Tantric Art workshops
  • A comprehensive daily program which includes morning meditations with the monks

The program’s feature event will be the Harmonic Chanting performance ‘Precious Jewels of Sound’, on the evening of Saturday January 12 (tickets $15 on the night). The program will culminate in the spectacular Dissolution Ceremony of the Sand Mandala and Procession to the Sea. All events are for the public and children of all ages.

Friday 4th January
1pm Ceremony of Blessing the Space, drawing of Blueprint for Mandala
6pm Official Opening - welcome by local dignitaries. Pouring of the First Sands of the Mandala of Ghuyasamaja, followed by reception.
