The Gyuto Monks have been coming to Australia to share their message of kindness and compassion since 1994. Here is a listing of the highlights of each tour. Click on any of the years below to see any additional material, such as flyers, etc from that particular tour:

2004 - Ten Years On ... Tour
2004 marks the tenth anniversary of the Gyuto Monks' Australian Tours. To celebrate,
the monastery sent a group of 8 monks for a celebratory "Ten Years On.." Tour of Australia with Gyuto Tantric Ritual Master Jampa Tashi who first visited in 1999-2000 for the 'Sounds of Global Harmony' Tour - and who was much loved by all who met him. The visit began with a short program in Balnarring on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, and went onto tour most of the country.

2003 - Wisdom Tour
The 2003 Wisdom Tour began with the
Wickid Arts Festival at the Gasworks in Melbourne in September 2002 and finished with the Sounds of Global Harmony Tour at Globe to Globe World Music Festival (also in Melbourne) in October 2003. In between, the monks travelled to the Sydney Opera House, Adelaide, Townsville, Cairnes, Darwin, Rockhampton, Northern NSW, Brisbane, Noosa, Byron Bay, the Mornington Peninsula, Hobart, Horsham, Gippsland and various locations in South Australia.

2002- Precious Gems of Peace Tour
2002 marks the eighth tour and the ninth year the Gyuto Monks have toured Australian communities. During the "Precious Gems of Peace Tour", which ran from January to June 2002, the monks were one of the major drawcards at the "Buddha: Radiant Awakening" Exhibition at the Gallery of NSW, celebrated Losar at The Gasworks, Melbourne (which is becoming a regular fixture), appeared at the Adelaide Festival of the Arts, the Byron Bay Blues Festival, created the Inverloch Spinning Wall of Peace, returned to the Sacred Music Festival at the Powerhouse in Brisbane and were the subjects for "Happiness" - A Photographic Exhibition of the Gyuto Monks of Tibet" at the Gasworks in Melbourne. The major highlight of this tour was the coinciding tour of HH the Dalai Lama to Australia, which involved the monks at several of His Holiness' appearances and talks, including "A Concert Tribute To His Holiness The Dalai Lama", held at the Sydney Opera House.

2001- Sacred Journey Sacred Space Tour
In 2001, the monks made a huge impact at Mt Martha on the Mornington Peninsula - building the first model stupa in Australia, with plans to build their first full-sized one in 2002, making an appearance at WOMAD, Adelaide and celebrating Losar - the Tibetan New Year - at the Gasworks, Melbourne, where they built the first 3-Dimensional String Mandala seen in Australia. They made an exciting addition to
The Inaugural Queensland Sacred Music Festival in May, have returned to the Mornington Peninsula to run three months of programs at the beautiful 'Muranna' property, and by special request made a return appearance at the Sydney Opera House in July.

1999-2000 - Sounds of Global Harmony Tour
Throughout 1999 and early 2000, they returned to Melbourne for World Peace Day, ran highly successful return programs in the Gippsland, Morwell, LaTrobe Valley regions, Alice Springs, Darwin, Katherine, Tennent Creek, Adelaide, NSW South Coast and Queensland 2000 marked their first trip to Tasmania, with performances and programs in Davenport, Launceston and Hobart, Sydney, Shepparton & Daylesford , Byron Bay, the Mornington Peninsula and Eltham

1998 - Peace of Mind Tour
In 1998
they were a huge hit everywhere they went, in Melbourne at the George Ballroom, the Gasworks and the National Gallery; in Townsville, South Gippsland, Bega & Tilba in NSW, in South Australia and also at the famous Woodford Music festival

1997 - The Australian Himalaya Tour
In 1997 it was a tent monastery in the Victorian snow fields as well as programs in Far North Queensland and a hugely successful chanting performance at the Sydney Opera House

1996 - Heart to Heart Tour
In 1996 they spent 3 months in the desert with Aboriginal communities working on a Family Wellbeing Program dealing with issues of Non - Violence and Forgiveness,

1995 - A Celebration of Spring
In 1995
it was Butter Sculptures at the W.A. Museum and Univ. of Adelaide, and their introduction to cyberspace via the talent and expertise of Virtual Artists, who provided them with a cutting-edge website, complete with live webcams showing the world via the Internet their program held at Bonython Hall, South Australia!

1994 - A Blueprint for Peace Tour
In 1994
they made the first Sand Mandalas ever seen in Australia, at the W.A. and S.A. Museums and National Gallery in Canberra.
