In 1996, Gyuto House
moved into a residence in the Adelaide Hills, and in 1998, to
a property close to the ocean and rolling hills of Second Valley,
about 50 minutes south of Adelaide.
Based at beautiful Second
Valley on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula, there are plans
to build a traditional Tibetan 'gompa' or meditation hall with
a stupa and ultimately offer retreat programs. To date the facilities
remain modest as requests continue to flow in for the monks to
visit various far flung parts of Australia.
Gyuto House is a voluntary
organization which brings the Gyuto Monks of Tibet to Australia,
from Gyuto Tantric University in India, and facilitates opportunities
for them to display their cultural and spiritual heritage - in
the process being a force for good in the Australian community
The touring schedule
is the means by which the monks get to interact most effectively
with the most people; it is also the means by which support is
garnered for the refugee monks in the monastery in India. So,
time passes and we all practice patience, content in the knowledge
that the greater need is being met.

support for our work please contact
