he Gyuto Monks' unique sound has been recorded many times.
Since their chanting was first heard by Western ears in 1967,
many have recorded their chanting ceremonies and invited them
to perform in venues such as Carnegie Hall, New York and The
Sydney Opera House, Australia, with various performers such as
Mickey Hart (Grateful Dead), and under the production skills
of people such as George Lucas (Star Wars).
Here is a selection of
the audio available of the Gyuto Monks' chanting, recorded in
Australia. |
