"GOOD KARMA"
A One Day Workshop For
Long Life And Good Health And Happiness
10. 00 am - 5. 00 pm.
Corunna Retreat Centre, Mystery Bay

On his very first visit 76 year old Phende is already inspiring Australians with his love and compassion. A gentle smiling giant of a man who never loses his temper and is renowned in the monastery as a peacemaker, Phende shows us how to live a good and happy life despite life?s hardships and horrors. Straight backed and full of grace, Phende has been shot, beaten and imprisoned, lost his monastery in Tibet, many of his colleagues, his country and yet through his meditation and practice of kindness and understanding, he has found peace and contentment.

This weekend will be a magic opportunity to connect with someone who carries the unmistakable stamp of a genuine tantric master, one of the original monks who practiced in the old Tibet of the Dalai Lama which today is fading to a dream of a mysterious past.

The day will enable participants to receive direct oral transmission of the sacred teachings of Lama Tsong Khapa based on the Heart Song of a Hundred Deities translated into practical advice for everyday living. Morning meditation with the Gyuto Monks will set the tone for the day then Phende will offer a series of sessions each followed by a period of practical meditation. Dealing with anger, depression, illness and suffering; practicing compassion for oneself and others and learning to look to the future with confidence are only some of the results to be gained from this rare opportunity.

December 31 2005 - January 8 2006

The Intuitive Well, Bondi Junction, NSW

GOOD KARMA @ THE JUNCTION 2005 / 2006
THE INTUITIVE WELL,
1/ 70 BRONTE ROAD

The Gyuto Monks of Tibet create a Tibetan Monastery in Bondi Junction

ONE WEEK ONLY

New Year's Eve, Saturday 31st December will see a very special event take place at Bondi Junction. Prior to the fun and fireworks of new year celebrations, the Gyuto Monks want to perform an ancient Puja Ceremony to shake off all the negative happenings of 2005 prior to offering a full eight day positive public program of daily pujas, meditation sessions, culture for kids classes, sand mandala and prayer wheel creation, tantric art activities and Buddhist teachings.

Transforming an already beautiful space into a colourful image of a traditional working Tibetan 'gompa' or monastery, the monks will create an environment into which people can come to meditate quietly, work with the monks on real monastic activities such as the building of prayer wheels, rolling of mantras and painting of auspicious symbols and join the monks as they chant different prayers each day to bring about specific outcomes ranging from protection, healing, health and long life to success and prosperity in the practical world.

In keeping with Tibetan custom where monks are requested to visit private homes or where families visit the monastery to make offerings and request special prayers to be said, the Black Tea Ceremony of Mahakala the protector deity of Gyuto will be conducted in response to individual requirements

Throughout the first week of January the monks will create the large Sand Mandala of Single Deity Yamantaka

This is rare opportunity for us to shake off our negative karma and to create good karma for the year ahead, in an individual sense as well as from a global perspective. In Tibetan Buddhism, karma is defined as life experience based on the consequences of our actions. The two dominant karmic forces in tantric practice are wisdom and action. Good karma is achieved through the accumulation of wisdom through learning and the practice of accumulating merit by means of perfecting our actions based on generousity, perseverance, diligence, ethical living, contemplation and self realization.

Spend the first week of 2006 creating good karma for yourself. Develop wisdom by attending Gen Phende's teachings and gain merit through your actions by participating in meditations sessions, rolling mantras, painting prayer wheels, sponsoring a puja, making offerings and providing service.

A unique chance to spend a fresh yet intensive week with the monks, coming and going from the Intuitive Well for a swim or a meditative walk on the beach. From morning to evening the Gyuto Monks will be at their practice of loving kindness and compassion. Join them and experience the peace in the presence of these gentle tantric masters.
