gyuto monks in performance

The Gyuto Monks' unique sound has been recorded many times. Since their chanting was first heard by Western ears in 1967, many have recorded their chanting ceremonies and invited them to perform in venues such as Carnegie Hall, New York and The Sydney Opera House, Australia, with various performers such as Mickey Hart (Grateful Dead), and under the production skills of people such as George Lucas (Star Wars).

Here is a selection of the audio available of the Gyuto Monks' chanting, recorded in Australia.

Please note: some of these files are very large, so please have patience while they download. You will also require the Macromedia Flash Player and RealAudio Player plugins to listen to these samples.

Click on the links below to hear the selections from each recording:

All recordings are Copyright Gyuto Tantric University unless otherwise indicated.

To purchase any of the Gyuto Monks' recordings (on CD and tape), go along to the Precious Items Store set-up during the monks' programs (usually found in the main hall where the programs are run).
