The
Gyuto Monks: The Tantric Trilogy (1998)
"The Tantric Trilogy" was the first CD produced by
the Gyuto Tantric University in Australia with Grand Chantmaster
Jangden Chenmo Lobsang Tsering, Dorje Lobsang, Thupten Khedup,
Tashi Namgyal, Khen Rinpoche Tenzin Sherab, Tsultrim Tashi, Sonam
Wanchuk, Yeshe Topgyal and Nawang Rinchen (translation by Sonam
Rigzin), and launched in 1998. The CD features guided meditations
in English read by Sonam Rigzin against the backdrop of the unique
chanting of the monks.
This is one of the few recordings
that feature Grand Chantmaster Jangden Chenmo Lobsang Tsering,
the young chantmaster heard in 1965 for the first time by Western
ears while practicing his mantras in India, which precipitated
the Gyuto Monks' being invited to tour the US, Europe, Japan
and Australia.
